Step 1: Fly a Trainer Kite
Your instructor will have you fly a trainer kite for about 10 minutes before using a power kite. This ensures safety and helps you learn faster.
Step 2: Setup Your Kiteboard Gear
Setting up your equipment properly is crucial. This ensures a safe and smooth kiteboarding session.
Step 3: Wind-Windows, Self-Rescue & Kite Knowledge
Learn detailed kite flying techniques, self-rescue, and essential knowledge for safe and fun kiteboarding experiences.
Step 4: Launch & Land a Power Kite
Learn hand signals, positioning, and proper techniques to safely launch and land a power kite.
Step 5: Fly an Inflatable Power Kite With Assistance
Fly the kite in the water with instructor assistance, learning safe positioning and fine-tuning control in real conditions.
Step 6: Fly the Kite Solo in the Water
Once comfortable, fly the kite solo while the instructor holds your harness for safety, gradually building independence.
Step 7: Body Dragging
Feel the kite’s power while body dragging in the water with instructor guidance, learning correct positioning to progress safely.
Step 8: Body Drag Upwind & One-Handed Kite Flying
Practice body dragging upwind using one-handed kite flying techniques, a critical skill for advanced kiteboarding control.
Step 9: Board Drags
Learn to handle the board while body dragging upwind, starting with instructor-assisted drags, then progressing to independent board drags, preparing for water starts.
Step 10: Water Starts & Board Riding
Combine kite flying and board skills for water starts. Learn to pop up on the board, ride short distances, and practice with instructor feedback to kiteboard safely and efficiently. Continue practicing to ride and maintain power.
